Subject: Rob Called

Hi Again,

I heard from Rob a little while ago and thought I would get you all up to date about what he found out so far.

There are six pay phones with very little limitations. Rob can call anyone he wants, and can even have them call him back at the pay phone he is using! I gave him a couple of calling cards --but we are both limited on money --so his calls will still be pretty limited from the halfway house.

Rob says he feels really strange wearing normal clothes and carrying a wallet with actual cash in it! He says there are vending machines --but he feels funny about using them because they have been restricted for so long!

He lucked out with having a room with only one roommate (most have four to a room) AND the guy speaks English!! Major bonus! They have their own bathroom in their room and the roommate has a TV as well. Rob thinks this guy will be there longer than him and is happy about that.

Rob can have visitors! Anyone with a photo ID can go see him!! Today, tomorrow and Thursday (during his 72 hour lock-down) visiting is from 8:30am to 8:30 pm. After that it will be:

M-F 11am-1pm and 6pm-8:30pm
Sat., Sun. and Holidays: 8:30am-12:30pm and 6pm-8:30pm

You can even bring him stuff! Food, magazines, money, whatever!

Here is where he is:

Coolidge House
307 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115
A 120-bed transitional residence for federal male prisoners and probationers.

This is a 5 story building in the vicinity of Copley Place and Northeastern College. I am sorry, I don't have directions and am not exactly sure where the entrance is. There is no sign above the door or anything like that. Just look for 307 and go in.

I know Rob can get mail there. I am not sure whether he can get anything other than letters --but will ask that question next time. I would assume you would still have to address the letter using his inmate # (22987-038) as well as his name and the address though. He is scheduled for release on Dec. 19, but could be sent home on "home confinement" at any point after his first 40 hour week of employment. Rob has a job lined up, but it needs to be approved. So Rob is definitely going to be at this place for at least two weeks.

He will be meeting with a councilor within his first three days. We will have a better idea of what to expect after that meeting.

That's all for now.....

Shannon
