Subject: Warden Letter

Hello there Rob fans,

I thought I would share with you the letter I just received from the warden today. This is what it said:

Dear Mrs. Rothberg:

This is in response to your correspondence received July 17, 2003. You have expressed concerns regarding your recent correspondence from FMC Devens, and are requesting that your name be restored to the visiting list of your husband, Robin Rothberg.

On May 13, 2003, you were removed from Mr. Rothberg's visiting list. Your last correspondence, received June 27, 2003, requested that your name be restored. You visiting privileges are planned to be restored effective September 1, 2003.

I trust this information has addressed your concerns.

This may seem like good news. And I suppose it could be. The truth is that I know that there is a lot of pressure on the Warden to do the right thing, but he really doesn't want to. I would not be surprised if his plan is to just get me to "take the heat off" and then not actually restore my name on the list. If I call off the ACLU and other measures I've taken now, and I am not restored, it would take weeks to get the ball in motion again. I feel that if the warden intended to put me back on the list, he would have made it effective immediately --as it should be.

Rob seems to be doing well according to his visitors and letters. He not been getting hassled by any prison staff and most of the problems with other inmates have stopped.

So for now I will just sit tight and wait to see what happens during the next month or so. I will certainly let you know if anything changes.
