Hey Rob Fans,

Rob's life has been changing a little more with every passing day. He has been working with his buddy in construction for the past two weeks. That seems to be getting easier as Rob picks up more skills and feels more confident with what is expected of him there. He is handling travel on the train with ease and seems to be adjusting quickly to life outside the confines of the prison and halfway house walls.

The good news is that Rob had completed the tasks necessary to allow him 12 hour passes to visit home! He was here most of Saturday and came back again yesterday! It seems he will be able to leave for 12 hours on Thanksgiving as well. The clock starts ticking as soon as he leaves the halfway house building. Then he has to call in when he gets home and again before he leaves to head back. They also call here at random times to be sure he is still here. He is also allowed to leave here for 2 hours each day, but has to go someplace with a phone. He has to call from home both before he leaves and when he arrives back, and has to call in when he arrives and leaves his destination. It's a pain, but better than prison. They also made me remove caller ID from our home phone. Not sure what purpose that serves.

If Rob can get someone from the halfway house to "inspect" our home, he can come home on a 24 hour weekend pass! With the holiday so near, that could be tricky. But we are keeping our fingers crossed for him to be home all next weekend.
